6/10 NYS Semi-finals: West Genesee vs. Pittsford (Cortland State University) In a defensive struggle, Pittsford held the Cats to 7 goals and went on to win 9-7 advancing to the finals against Northport. Katey Hart scored five goals in a losing effort. Congratulations to the Lady Cats for a fantastic season !!
6/2 NYS Regionals: West Genesee vs. Corning (West Genesee High School). Playing a stifling defense, particularly in the second half, West Genesee beat Corning 10 - 5 (score at half 6 - 4) to advance to the NYS semi-finals. Natalie Anderson, Dana Anderson, Shelby Milne, Brittany Diddio and Madison Huegel anchored the "D". Both goalies contributed to that solid play in helping to hold Corning to one goal in the second half. Emily Tripodi had one goal and seven assists. Liz Lacomb, Kara Dattelas, Nikki Bello, Erica Geremia all added goals for the Lady Cats.
5/31 Sectional Finals: West Genesee vs. Baldwinsville (Liverpool High School) Defeating the Bees for the third time this year - the Lady Cats prevailed in a hard fought win 11- 10. Erica Geremia scored the game winner on an assist from who else - Emily Tripodi. Goalie Libby Byrne played extremely well in net, particularly in the first half as West Genesee pulled away in the first half (6-2). Nikki Bello had 2 key goals early on the help spark the 'Cats.
5/26 Section 3 Semi-Finals: West Genesee vs. FM (Solvay High School) The Lady Cats took an early lead against the Hornets in a closely contested game throughout the first half. Eventually, West Genesee pulled away in the second half to advance to the Section 3 semi-finals by defeating FM 18-10. Emily Tripodi had 2 goals and nine assists, Erica Geremia had 6 goals and Nikki Bello added a hat trick to help the Cats move on the finals. Goalie Rachel Watkins had three stops - playing well in net for the Cats.
5/19 West Genesee vs RFA (West Genesee High School - Senior Night) Finishing off the regular season with a perfect record, West Genesee beat RFA 20-0.
5/17 West Genesee vs. FM (West Genesee High School) After a back and forth first half which ended with Genny leading 9 to 8, the Cats came out strong in the second half to defeat the Hornets 18 - 13. Katey Hart had 5 goals and 4 assists, Erica Geremia had 7 goals and the defense tighten up in the second half as Genny won their 15th straight.
5/12 West Genesee vs. Skaneateles (Skaneateles) Once again West Genny led throughout the entire game - on their way to their fourteenth win - 16 to 10 over Skaneateles (9 - 5 at half). Emily Tripodi scored 6 goals and Kara Dattellas had 4 goals and 2 assists for the Cats. Libby Byrne and Rachel Watkins recorded 3 saves each.
5/8 West Genesee vs. Carthage (West Genesee High School) 21 to 10 final score (half 14 - 3). The Lady Cats stormed out to an early lead and never looked back. Nikki Desko had 2 goals and an assist, Kara Dattellas contributed 3 goals, while Erica Geremia totalled 6 points (4 goals / 2 assists). Rachel Watkins made four stops for the Cats. Record: 13-0
5/5 West Genesee vs. Baldwinsville (Ray Middle School, B'ville) West Genesee played great defense throughout the entire game and came away with a 12-8 win - pushing their record to 12-0.
5/3 West Genesee vs. Oswego (Home - location changed due to weather) Oswego kept the game tight throughout the first half with strong goaltending (Score at half 8 - 6), but Genny pulled away in the second half winning 21-10.
4/29 West Genesee vs CNS (CNS High School) Katey Hart scored 3 goals and had five assists, Julie Dussing had 4 goals and Erica Geremia contributed 5 goals and 1 assist to lead West Genny to a 21 to 10 win over CNS. The win was the tenth straight for the #1 state ranked Cats. Senior goalie Rachel Watkins played well in the second half stopping 4 shots. Score at half 10 - 4.
4/27 West Genesee vs. Corcoran (West Genesee High School) The Lady Wildcats controlled the game from start to finish winning 22 - 2 before it was stopped due to lightning late in the second half. Niki Desko, Olivia Wolfram, Vicki Graveline and Dana Anderson (her first career goal !) each tallied a goal for West Genesee. Record 9-0.
4/25 West Genesee vs. CBA (West Genesee High School) Outscoring the Lady Brothers 18 to 7, West Genesee won their eight game of the season (Half time score 10-5). Emily Tripodi led the way again for the Lady Cats scoring 5 goals and handing out 7 assists. Erica Geremia had 6 goals and 1 assist and both goalies played solid throughout the entire game.
4/21 West Genesee vs. Auburn (Auburn High School) Continuing their winning ways, the West Genesee girls won handily 25 - 3. Kerri Taylor scored two goals and dished out one assist and several players hit the scoring column on a blustery day in Auburn. Record: 7 - 0.
4/19 West Genesee vs. Central Square (West Genesee High School) Winning their sixth game in a row, the Cats beat Central Square 23-3. Score at half 15-2. Sixteen players tallied goals for West Genesee. Emily Tripodi had 4 goals / 4 assists, Mel Murphy also had five points (3 goals, 2 assists).
4/14 West Genesee vs. FM (FM) The Lady Cats streaked out to an early lead and never looked back - winning the game 18 to 3. Katey Hart contributed 4 goals, Mel Murphy took to the highway on her rocket and added a hat trick as well.
4/12 West Genesee vs. Henninger (West Genesee High School) West Genesee dominated the game throughout winning by a score of 18 to 3. The Cats put together a balanced scoring attack with eleven players finding the back of the net. Oliva Wolfram, Marissa Rose, Kerri Taylor and Alia Hildebrandt all scored for the first time in their careers. Nicki Desko also got in the scoring column with two assists. Score at half: 13-0.
4/9 West Genesee vs. Mendham, NJ (West Genesee High School) In a back and forth game, the Cats prevailed over the third-ranked Mendham 11 to 10 on a late goal by Shannon Hawley. Once again Libby Byrne played well in goal making 10 saves with 2 critical stops near the end of the game. The Lady Cats defense also played well holding Mendham's high powered offense to 10 goals (averaged 15). Katey Hart tallied 4 goals, Shannon Hawley and Erica Geremia both had 2.
4/7 West Genesee vs. Liverpool (Liverpool High School). Winning their second game of the season, the Cats won 14 to 9. Liverpool kept the game close throughout with solid goaltending, but West Genny prevailed. Libby Byrne turned away a number of good shots as Liverpool slowed the pace to keep the game tight. Erica Geremia, Katey Hart and Shannon Hawley contributed offensively with a balanced scoring attack. Score at half: 6 to 4.
4/5 West Genesee vs. Baldwinsville (West Genesee High School) The Lady Wildcats defeated Baldwinsville 17 to 11 in the season opener for both teams. Emily Tripodi (4 goals, 2 assists) and Kara Dattellas (4 goals, 1 assist) led the way for the Lady Cats. Genny led 12 to 4 at half. Baldwinsville mounted a comeback mid-way through the second half only to be turned away in the end with consecutive goals by Vicki Graveline and Nikki Bello. Libby Byrne and Rachel Watkins played well in net.
